We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to join our Supported Learning Development. We have three roles available across three campuses.
You will join us on a full-time basis and receive a competitive salary of between £44,409.00 per annum, plus staff benefits.
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This role requires collaboration with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate daily activities.
The role involves embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula that incorporate English and Maths within vocational learning and across the department.
You will be responsible for staffing, supporting student achievement, and maximizing learning support timetables to ensure high levels of attainment.
You will implement personalized curricula for students with High Needs, champion inclusivity, and model inclusive practices in the classroom and workspace.
Your management style should foster collaboration in planning, resource preparation, and mentoring to help all students reach their full potential, including those with high needs.
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership qualities, experience working with students, families, professionals, and stakeholders, and a high level of pedagogic practice.
You should have experience developing curricula, working with stakeholders on SEND initiatives, and conducting internal quality assurance for various programs.
Extensive experience in a SEND department, post-16 experience, and a strong approach to staff management and wellbeing are essential. You should also be adept at implementing reasonable adjustments to promote inclusion.
