Job Description: Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion)

Location: Exeter, United Kingdom

Type: Permanent, ASAP Start

Salary: £44,409.00 per annum plus staff benefits

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

This role involves working collaboratively with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate activities. You will embed equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula that incorporate English and Maths within vocational learning.

You will be responsible for staffing, supporting student achievement, implementing inclusive curricula, and modeling inclusive practices. Your management style should foster collaboration, resource planning, and support for students to reach their full potential.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities, experience with special educational needs, curriculum development, internal quality assurance, and working with stakeholders. Post-16 experience in a SEND setting is essential, along with a strong management approach, HR knowledge, and experience implementing reasonable adjustments.
