A leading educational institution in Exeter is seeking an Assistant Head of Department (Inclusion) to champion equality and inclusion practices. The successful candidate will coordinate with various stakeholders to enhance curriculums for students with special educational needs, while also managing and supporting staff to maximize student potential. Salary: £44,409.00 per annum plus staff benefits
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
This role involves working collaboratively with the Head of Department, other Assistant Heads, Lecturers, and Technicians to coordinate activities. You will embed equality, diversity, and inclusion practices, ensuring students with SEND and High Needs receive personalized curricula that incorporate English and Maths within vocational learning.
You will be responsible for staffing, supporting student achievement, implementing inclusive curricula, and modeling inclusive practices. Your management style should foster collaboration, resource planning, and support for students to reach their full potential.
Candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities, experience with special educational needs, curriculum development, internal quality assurance, and working with stakeholders. Post-16 experience in a SEND setting is essential, along with a strong management approach, HR knowledge, and experience implementing reasonable adjustments.
All staff must share a commitment to safeguarding and will undergo enhanced DBS clearance. Employment is subject to references and compliance with relevant legislation.
