Job summary

PureGym Limited in Sheffield is seeking a dynamic Gym Team Lead responsible for delivering outstanding member experiences while developing staff. You will recruit, train and supervise a team of Personal Trainers and Gym Instructors, support with outreach and community events, and lead group exercise offerings to keep members motivated.

This role combines hands-on leadership with a passion for fitness, and requires a Level 2 gym instructing qualification and a track record in group exercise

Qualifications

• L2 qualification in gym instructing and experience teaching group exercise.
• Proven ability to recruit, train and supervise fitness staff.
• Strong focus on member experience and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club alongside the Gym Manager.
• Support the Gym Manager to attract new joiners through outreach and events.
• Lead and develop a team of Personal Trainers, Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development for staff.
• Manage and improve Group Exercise offerings to maximise participation.
• Uphold integrity, resilience and drive results in all duties.

Job description

This is a varied role, involved with everything from member experience to team development, you will focus on the following:

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager
• Support the Gym Manager to bring in new joiners through different activities, including club outreach and community events
• Team Leadership: Recruit, proactively develop a talent pipeline, train and supervise a team of Personal Trainer/Fitness Coaches and Gym Instructors. Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for fitness staff to enhance their skills and career growth.
• Group Exercise: manage and improve GEX offering within the gym. The ability to help everyone in the gym team be the best version of themselves.
• A passion for fitness and wellbeing.
• Someone who embodies 'Feel PureGym Good' in all that they do.
• A desire to do the right thing. Driving results is important - and how you do this - with resilience, confidence, and integrity is equally vital to success in this role.
• A L2 qualification in gym instructing, and experience teaching group exercise. Annual Salary - £27,522
