Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd in Hampshire seeks an Assistant Grower to join a successful soft fruit operation. You will assist the day-to-day management of crops, helping to ensure they are grown to high standards and quality throughout the production cycle.

The role requires prior commercial soft fruit experience, knowledge of growing cycles, and practical crop management skills. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and UK work eligibility are essential; PA1/PA6 qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent required.
• Strong understanding of soft fruit growing cycles.
• PA1 and PA6 qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor crops throughout their growing cycles and identify issues.
• Support crop walks and regular crop assessments.
• Assist with crop husbandry and general growing activities.
• Monitor plant development, fruit quality and crop performance.
• Work with the growing team to ensure crops receive proper care at each stage.
• Assist with irrigation, crop protection and other crop management aspects.
• Maintain accurate crop and growing records.
• Identify crop issues and raise them with the team.
• Support planning and preparation across the operation.
• Assist with general farm and growing duties when required.
