Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established Business Services organisation to recruit an Assistant GL Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a supportive work environment, working mostly remotely.

As the Assistant GL Accountant, you will support the production of management accounts by completing scheduled tasks efficiently.

Your responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts
• Preparing journal entries and ensuring accurate recording
• Collaborating with finance team members to analyze financial data
• Assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Preparing financial statements and reports
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Handling ad-hoc financial tasks and projects
• Engaging in continuous improvement by highlighting suggestions and opportunities

Candidate requirements:

• Part-qualified and actively studying with ICAEW, CIMA, or ACCA
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role; practice experience or AAT studies are desirable but not essential
• Understanding of fundamental accounting principles (debits/credits, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work proactively and meet deadlines
