Assistant Geologist - Maidstone

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Geologist to join our Geotechnical team. As an Assistant Geologist, you’ll be supporting our experts with the testing and monitoring of building foundations at the forefront of a variety of projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised area, aid professional progression, and get stuck in with some exciting projects across the UK in a hands-on learning environment.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

1. Help prepare Health & Safety documentation prior to and during the site works phase, as well as assisting with managing the Health & Safety of operatives and promoting a safe working environment.
2. Assisting with the planning, supervision and programming of Ground Investigation projects at locations throughout the United Kingdom.
3. Logging of Soil and Rock in accordance with the specification and BS5930:2015 + A1:2020.
4. Keeping accurate field records of tasks performed.
5. Performing in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the specification and current technical standards.
6. Liaise with Clients / Engineers / Main Contractors throughout the site works phase.
7. Post site work visits to undertake monitoring.
8. Managing and collating site data using company software systems.
9. Be able to compile factual reports.
10. Carry out work in accordance with company Health and Safety rules.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

1. Qualified to degree level in a geotechnical discipline.
2. Full UK driving licence.
3. Computer literate and competent in use of MS.
4. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
5. Good attention to detail.
6. Mobility, flexibility and commitment.
