BOXPARK Liverpool Street is seeking an inspiring Assistant General Manager to lead front-of-house teams across food hall, bars and events. You’ll drive service standards, develop your team, and ensure seamless service in a fast-paced environment at a vibrant city venue.

You’ll report to the General Manager, balance people and performance with bookings and safety, and help create memorable guest experiences while maintaining operational excellence and high guest satisfaction.

The role:

At Boxhall Liverpool Street, we’re looking for an inspiring and hands-on Assistant General Manager to lead our front of house teams and play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You’ll be at the heart of our operation—leading from the front across our food hall, bars and events, driving excellent service standards, developing and motivating your team, and ensuring every service runs seamlessly. Working closely with the General Manager you’ll balance people, performance, bookings and operational standards to create a vibrant, efficient and welcoming venue where both guests and teams thrive. Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for:
  • Ensure Excellent Customer Service – Make sure all guests that walk through our doors receive friendly, efficient, and professional service.

  • Manage Bar,Restaurant and Events Operations – Coordinate the smooth running of the front of house operation ensuring all bars, door and floor teams are working harmoniously

  • Handle Customer Complaints – Resolve guest concerns professionally and take appropriate action to maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor Staff Performance – Observe staff, provide feedback, training and development to ensure team follow venue standards at the highest level

  • Manage all aspects of the guest service within the premises in order to anticipate and exceed guest expectations

  • Develop product knowledge to ensure accurate delivery of service, product and hospitality.

  • Resolution of guest complaints within the premises, going the extra mile to ensure repeat business and satisfaction of all parties.

  • Ensure all Health and Safety & Fire procedures are implemented according to legal standards.

  • Take ownership of venue audits, perform regular inspections of the site and delegate responsibility complete tasks and maintain standards.

  • Escalate or communicate to Head Office and the venue General Manager all issues deemed fit or which cannot be resolved locally, or, which will have high guest/financial impact.

  • Budgeting and Cost Control. Assisting in creating budgets, monitoring expenditures, and implementing cost-saving measures while maintaining service quality.

  • Manage all incidents in line with company procedures.

  • Ensure all employees are adequately trained in all procedures.

  • Anticipate potential problems/situations and act accordingly to create solutions.

  • Manage security team and feed issues back to them to improve.

  • Complete Opening and Closing Procedures – Ensure the restaurant is properly prepared before service and secured, cleaned, and organised after service.
