Job description

Assistant Manager – Wine Bar & Snacks

East London | £40,000–£45,000 | Full-Time 45 hours | No pretension, just good wine & good vibes

This is a dream role for the right person—someone who wants to build something from the ground up, lead with heart, and bring joy to everyone who walks through the door.

We’re launching a brand-new wine bar — an unfiltered antidote to the typical uptight wine scene. Everyone should feel welcome, seen, and cared for when it comes to their wine needs. We’re all about great wine, delicious food, and an atmosphere that feels more like your favourite friend’s kitchen than a formal tasting room. Wines & Vinyls

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager who lives and breathes hospitality, knows their way around a wine list (ideally with a qualification or two), but—crucially—can talk about wine in a way that feels relaxed and human. No jargon. No snobbery. Just warmth, knowledge, and a genuine passion for sharing.

What We’re Offering:

  • Autonomy and creative input—we want you to take the reins
  • A central role in launching and shaping a fresh, fun hospitality concept
  • Room to grow as we expand into other London neighbourhoods

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Running the day-to-day bar and shop operations
  • Working closely with the founder and reporting into the GM at our sister site
  • Creating a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable environment for every guest
  • Preparing and serving small plates (charcuterie, cheeses, conservas, etc.)
  • Helping customers select wines and deli items to take home
  • Taking ownership of the space and being a trusted face for guests and team alike
  • Playing Impeccable tunes!

Who You Are:

  • A natural host with a love of wine, food, and people
  • Knowledgeable about wine—ideally WSET qualified or similar
  • Passionate about small producers and the stories behind the bottles
  • Warm, approachable, and never pretentious—people feel at ease around you
  • Highly organised and reliable, with the drive to take full ownership
  • Hands-on and proactive—no task too big or small
  • Excited about growing with a new concept, and ready to help shape its future (Potential career growth)
