Assistant General Manager who is passionate about creating a world-class environment for learn-to-swim in bespoke learn-to-swim centres. This is an integral role not only for the day-to-day operation of the centres but also for our vision to revolutionize learn-to-swim in the UK. Olympians Rebecca Adlington and Steve Parry are behind swim!, the UK's leading premium learn-to-swim experience. We utilize bespoke facilities to deliver high-quality swimming lessons to children aged 0-11. Our program emphasizes technique and core skills before progressing to distances, with fun weekly themes. Members enjoy modern, warm changing rooms designed for children, a panoramic viewing lounge with refreshments, activities for families, smart lesson management, and our unique swim! awards to celebrate achievements. The booking process is simple and online, with no need for rebooking every few weeks.

swim! Assistant Manager duties

  • Assist the General Manager in meeting service and financial goals as outlined in the annual budget and business plan.
  • Oversee delivery of engaging lessons for ages 0-11 and adults, using swim! resources and programming strategies for a seamless customer experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer care to swimmers and families, instilling these values within the operational team.
  • Monitor program performance and KPIs such as customer retention and Net Promoter Scores, analyzing data for business improvements.
  • Lead operational teams, including Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers, managing rotas, observations, and performance reviews.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, ensure policies are followed, and oversee risk assessments to maintain safety and service quality.
  • Maintain hygiene and operational standards, aiming for a 5-star monthly audit score and full health and safety compliance.
  • Conduct health and safety checks regularly, keeping accurate records and proactively addressing hazards.
  • Ensure pool plant operates efficiently, carrying out scheduled maintenance and managing related budgets.
  • Monitor chemical levels in accordance with guidelines and regulations, ordering supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate with engineers and contractors for maintenance, supporting preventative and reactive tasks, including annual checks.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and schedules, seeking efficiencies and cost savings, including overtime and staffing costs.
