Job summary

Pegasus Homes in Cobham, England is seeking an Assistant General Manager (Senior Building & Community Coordinator) to lead on-site operations at the West Byfleet development, ensuring building functionality and a welcoming resident experience.

This fixed-term role is full-time (35 hours/week) with a DBS check, enhanced benefits, and on-site parking, focused on safety, community events, and collaboration with Sales, Development and Completions teams.

Responsibilities

  • Building Operations: conduct regular building inspections and essential checks (fire alarm, emergency light, water system testing).
  • Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met.
  • First point of contact for resident inquiries and emergencies.
  • Resident & Community Relations: assist with move-ins, build relationships with residents and families.
  • Plan and organize social events to foster community spirit.
  • Maintain records and events diary.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Development, and Completions teams.
  • Manage move-in schedules and plan summer events.

You will be based at our beautiful Highfields, West Byfleet development, a stunning community of apartments, residents lounge, yoga space & treatment room, guest suite and landscaped gardens.

About our role

Internally you'll be known as 'Senior Building & Community Coordinator', you'll be the driving force behind our residential development and our go-to person on-site, making sure everything operates seamlessly while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for our residents. Building Operations

  • Conduct regular building inspections and carry out essential checks, including fire alarm, emergency light, and water system testing.
  • Coordinate with external contractors to ensure effective maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements for the development are met.
  • Act as the first point of contact for resident inquiries and emergencies.

Resident & Community Relations

  • Create a positive experience for new residents by assisting with the move-in process.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with residents and their families.
  • Plan and organise engaging social events and activities to foster a strong community spirit.
  • Maintain accurate records and an events diary.
  • Collaborate with our internal Sales, Development, and Completions teams.
  • This is a full time role working 35 hours a week, working Monday - Friday on either 09:00 - 16:30 or 08:30 - 16:00 shift pattern, depending on your preference.
  • At Pegasus, the safety and wellbeing of our residents are our highest priorities. Therefore, this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check (we handle the application and cost for this).
  • This is a fixed term contract expected to last 4-6 months.
  • Free staff parking is available onsite.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a 'people person' who takes genuine pride in their surroundings. You are as comfortable chatting with a resident over coffee as you are checking a fire alarm panel or coordinating a contractor.

  • You’re empathetic, patient, and genuinely enjoy creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere for residents and their families.
  • You have a keen eye for detail. Experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or luxury hospitality is a significant plus.
  • You take responsibility seriously. You understand the importance of Health & Safety compliance and are diligent when it comes to essential checks and record-keeping.
  • From managing a move-in schedule to planning a summer garden party, you can juggle administrative tasks and event planning without breaking a sweat.
  • You’re a clear communicator who enjoys working with internal teams and external contractors to get the job done right.
  • You understand that this isn't just a building, it’s a home. You’ll treat the development with the care and attention to detail it deserves.
  • You are punctual, professional, and possess a calm head when dealing with emergencies.
  • You are comfortable using basic IT systems for logging maintenance requests and maintaining digital records.
