Join Our Team as a Assistant General Manager at VervLife!

Job Title: Assistant General Manager

Reporting To: General Manager

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm but with felxibulity between the hours of 8.00am to 8.00pm, 40 hours per week

Some occasional weekend working

About The Role

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in implementing best practice through strong leadership, as well as driving a high quality customer service, sales, maintenance and housekeeping provision. The safety and welfare of our residents should always be paramount, offering pastoral care to your customer base is key.

Key Responsibilities:

Accountabilities

  • Supporting the GM to ensure the property is compliant, adopting all Health & Safety legislation
  • Assisting the GM in managing the property budget and reporting on profit and loss..
  • Accountability for property performance against KPIs, including; Sales, Debt, Customer satisfaction, pastoral care, H & S, & Financial.
  • Monitoring and improving customer experience through internal and external surveys
  • Managing complaint handling and flat disputes
  • Ensuring the property is adequately and appropriately resourced and that workload is allocated accordingly
  • Take overall management responsibility when the GM is not present due to annual leave, sickness or other circumstances.

Responsibilities

Supporting the GM to:

  • Manage and deliver sales performance across the property, this may include summer business from third parties and local marketing opportunities
  • Complete Health & Safety Audits and comply with legislation
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with key University contacts
  • Organise and manage the check in, check out and room turnaround process
  • Manage and develop capability across the property team, raising performance through coaching/feedback and performance management
  • Implement and manage performance improvements and customer satisfaction

Critical Tasks

  • Audit property on a regular basis ensuring that safe working practices are in place.
  • Manage customer-related issues
  • Work collaboratively with the wider property management team and share best practice
  • Monthly property KPI reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Hold regular 121’s with direct reports and set stretching and realistic objectives
  • Take ownership of resolving and supporting with any incidents that occur out of hours
