Job Title: Assistant Garment Technologist

Reporting to: Head of Tech

Location: London

Contract Type: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role:

We are looking for an Assistant Garment Tech to support the Garment Technology Team through effective administration of the production process. The role involves working closely with designers, manufacturers, and production teams to ensure products meet quality, fit, and production standards, and maintaining delivery schedules.

Job Responsibilities:

Product:

• Ensure prototypes, fit samples, and Gold Seals meet specifications and brand standards.
• Support the Garment Tech Team with fit comments, specifications, amendments, and size charts, communicated clearly both in writing and visually.
• Experience with PLM systems is advantageous.
• Ensure test reports (base) are available for all fabrics/yarns, interlinings, trims, and artwork at the proto stage.
• Coordinate bulk tests and garment testing, balancing quality and cost considerations.
• Conduct wearer trials on new fabrics or high-risk styles and take appropriate actions.

Additional Tasks:

• Visit warehouses regularly to identify quality issues or poor manufacturing, and perform AQL inspections.
• Visit retail stores periodically to observe trends and gather feedback.
• Review monthly quality returns and implement necessary actions.
• Coordinate fit reviews each season to ensure consistent and correct fit.
• Prioritize workload according to meeting schedules and critical paths.
• Maintain good working relationships with head office, store, warehouse teams, and supply base.
• Organize department filing and keep workstations tidy and organized.
