Job summary

TRP Recruitment ltd is seeking an Assistant Menswear Garment Technologist to join a close-knit technical team in a fashion business. The role suits a recent graduate or someone at the start of their garment technology career with a genuine interest in menswear.

You will focus on sample management and measurement, supporting the Senior Garment Technologist and ensuring samples are processed accurately for fit sessions, with room to develop techniqual knowledge.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate in garment technology or related discipline.
• Experience measuring garment samples accurately.
• Good understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management.
• Confident using Excel and Outlook with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and prioritising samples in line with delivery dates and deadlines.
• Measuring garment samples accurately and preparing them for fit sessions.
• Processing relevant workbooks and maintaining accurate technical records.
• Supporting the Senior Garment Technologist with day-to-day workload and technical administration.
• Maintaining organised sample storage and tracking systems.
• Attending fit sessions as experience develops and taking fit notes under guidance.
• Supporting the creation of fit comments following feedback.
• Assisting with additional technical tasks as required by the wider team.

The role will focus heavily on sample management and measurement, supporting the Senior Garment Technologist and helping to ensure samples are processed accurately and ready for fit sessions.

Person specification:

• - A recent graduate in garment technology, fashion technology or a related discipline, or someone with early career experience in a technical role
• - Essential experience accurately measuring garment samples and a good understanding of garment construction and pattern cutting
• - Strong attention to detail with excellent organisation and time management skills
• - Confident using Microsoft Excel and Outlook with strong communication skills
• - Proactive, calm under pressure and keen to learn within a close-knit team environment
