Job Title: Assistant Flood Risk Consultant

My client, a market-leading multidisciplinary Civil and Environmental Consultancy, is seeking an Assistant Flood Risk Consultant to join their innovative team. This role offers hybrid working from Shrewsbury.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a strong academic background in Hydrology, Civil, or Water Engineering, with experience working for a UK-based Consultancy or Water Company, specifically in flood risk or hydrological assessments.

Additional Requirements

Living locally is beneficial for attending site visits in flood risk areas.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct flood risk assessments
  • Engage in natural flood management projects
  • Participate in re-wilding and habitat management
  • Re-wetting farmland and wetland creation
  • Develop surface water management plans
  • Prepare large-scale catchment management plans
  • Perform nutrient neutrality assessments
  • Conduct water quality sampling and assessments of local rivers
  • Handle pollution incident investigations
  • Perform flow calculations and flood estimation
