Truly exciting business that has multiple arms across diverse industries is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their team. They have experienced remarkable growth driven by strategic private equity investments. As part of their next 10-year business plan, they aim to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve substantial revenue increases.

To support this growth, they are seeking to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to work alongside the Financial Controller and Group Finance Director. This role will be crucial in driving profitability and adding commercial value through financial planning and analysis.

Working directly with the Finance Director, your role will blend both financial and commercial aspects of finance, including:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts and review of performance versus budget.
• Supporting and liaising with group stakeholders during month-end and seasonal activities.
• Completing audit schedules and being a primary contact for auditors.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations monthly and analyzing differences.
• Preparing accruals and prepayments.
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accurate reconciliation of intergroup balances with senior stakeholders.
• Collaborating with the Finance Director and Managing Director to develop the commercial narrative and improve profitability.
• Supporting senior management in evaluating new business opportunities aligned with growth plans.
• Providing training and support to junior team members to develop management experience.
• Maintaining Fixed Asset Registers and posting monthly depreciation.
• Developing accounting processes and procedures.

Ideally, candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

• ACA qualified.
• Experience in audit/financial accounting within the profession or strong technical management accountant/financial accounting experience in fast-paced, dynamic organizations.
• Career-focused with aspirations to become a Financial Controller and beyond.
