Role Details

Assistant Financial Controller

Role: Permanent Full Time

Location: West ofLondon

Salary: Competitive plus bonus plus pension

The Role

We're seeking a driven and organised Assistant Financial Controller to take responsibility for supporting all financial accounting, internal & external audit, tax, treasury, and cash management activities by working closely with our operations Finance team.

In this fast-paced role, you'll assist with the preparation of statutory returns and ensure appropriate evidence and assistance is supplied to allow auditors to reach an opinion on our financial statements. You'll lead the monthly closure process and take responsibility for our corporate financial reporting in a timely manner. In addition to that you'll enter the monthly reconciliation data of our financial reporting into the ERP system and take care of monthly GL scrutiny (including GR-IR account &balance sheet open item management). You'll also assist with VAT reporting; office national statistics etc. and regularly review figures and investigate discrepancies.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a similar role ideally within a multinational manufacturing company or the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent IT skills -especially in Excel
  • SAP (including BPC) knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: able to liaise with all levels of authority, navigate cultural differences and work collaboratively across cross-functional teams
  • Proactive self-starter - arrives with solutions, keen to maximise opportunities and motivated to expand your knowledge and ask questions
  • A team player and willing to take on a broad spectrum of tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ideally a Qualified (or part) Accountant (ACCA, CGMA, ACA) with a solid technical understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS
