As we continue to grow and evolve our business, we're looking for a highly motivated finance professional to join us to support the existing Financial Controller in providing Financial Control activities for the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a fast-paced FTSE business with a growth and change agenda to really make an impact.
Here's the experience, skills & competencies we're looking for you to bring:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with minimum +2 years PQE
- Experience working in group reporting or financial control team of a FTSE 250 or similar sized business
- Experience in Audit/ Accounting practice is highly desirable
- Strong technical accounting skills and experience, including:
- supporting a group management and financial control function
- Intercompany reconciliations
- VAT submission and reconciliation
- AP team reconciliations
- Company fixed assets to include annual physical inventory
- Applying technical accounting standards (IFRS) in a group business
- Advanced Excel
- Advanced ERP user. Experience with Oracle Netsuite is desirable
- Hands-on approach with a readiness to be flexible
- Rigorous attention to detail
- Effective communication written and oral skills
- Ability to work with and manipulate large datasets and analyse and interpret them
- A sense of camaraderie and good humour while under pressure

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you'll work closely and in harmony with our current Financial Controller. This role will also build relationships and work alongside the wider Group Finance and Finance Business Partnering team. There will be regular communication with our CFO too.

The Assistant Financial Controller position is a critical role within the finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance teams to ensure overall financial control within the business. Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Manage and lead the periodic balance sheet review process
- ERP Administration (Netsuite)
- Expense System management and improvement (Pleo)
- Undertake monthly review of all journals in Netsuite, ensuring the periodic pack is prepared and signed off with CFO
- Support the Financial Controller with quarterly VAT processes
- Working with the AP team to enhance efficiencies, undertake AP and Other Debtor account reviews and improve weekly bank reconciliation processes to provide better cashflow assumptions for the Treasury team
- Supporting the preparation and review of the monthly consolidated Group packs, including P&L, Balance Sheet, KPIs for Board and Directors of the business
- Supporting the Group Financial Controller with the preparation and co-ordination of various financial information for external third parties and regulators, ensuring that Financial Accounting and Reporting Policies are adhered to throughout the Group through the provision of ongoing education and training
- Co-leading in the preparation and review with the Group Financial Controller key monthly financial controls, ensuring these are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
- Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls for year-end audits
- Working with the Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller and External Auditors to support Half and Full Year audit processes
