Assistant Financial Controller
Leicester
Up to £70,000 per annum

SF Recruitment are partnering with a successful manufacturing business with a strong track record of growth, innovation, and operational excellence. They are looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to support the finance functions, ensure accurate reporting, and drive financial efficiency across the organisation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Treasury, Costing, Management Accounting, and SOX compliance. You'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial systems, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and partnering with operational teams to reduce costs, improve productivity, and enhance financial understanding across the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting team (AP, AR, Payroll, Treasury, Management Accounting)
- Provide accurate and timely cost and management accounting information.
- Prepare and submit monthly accounts within three working days of period end
- Report daily profit & loss and variable cost per earned standard hour.
- Support quarterly and rolling monthly forecasts
- Maintain SOX compliance by coordinating quarterly testing and ensuring complete, accurate documentation.
- Design, develop, and implement daily KPI monitors for the finance team, with action plans for off-target measures.
- Promote financial awareness across the business, particularly among managers, to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure statutory compliance while meeting internal accounting requirements.

About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of SOX requirements and regulations.
- Experience with accounting standards such as US GAAP
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse finance functions.
- Proven ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent commercial and analytical skills, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
