Job description

We are working with a national organisation who is looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner.

This will support the Finance Business Partner in reporting the financial position of several services within the group. As a key member of the Finance Business Partnering Team, you will play an integral role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to aid effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the production of monthly management accounts including the preparation of accruals, prepayments, transactional analysis, and monthly reforecasts.
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in ensuring the leadership team is kept fully informed of financial matters and maintain robust budgetary control across sites.
  • Contribute to financial modelling and performance analysis to evaluate service delivery and drive improvements.
  • Prepare annual budgets and monthly reforecasts for assigned services.
  • Deliver balance sheet reconciliations and manage intercompany recharges.
  • Provide clear and meaningful financial commentary and analysis.
  • Support and guide on-site finance staff, embedding robust financial controls and processes.
  • Contribute to insightful analysis, performance monitoring, and continuous financial improvement.

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or actively studying towards CIMA (or equivalent) – preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a finance function, with a strong understanding of monthly management accounts and reporting.
  • Prior exposure to working in an educational or multi-site environment is advantageous.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
