Job Title: Assistant Financial Accountant

Department: Finance

Reports To: Finance Manager – Financial Control

Location: Gillingham / Hybrid

Overview:

Reporting to the Financial Control manager, this Assistant Financial Accountant role will focus on monthly reporting, internal controls and assisting with internal and external audits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collation and processing of revenue recognition documentation on a quarterly basis.
  • Monthly roll forward reporting on HFM and completion of footnotes for quarterly reporting.
  • Completion of Quarterly SOX tests.
  • Ensuring completion of standard close checklists, JDE code set up and monthly journal testing.
  • Assist Financial Accountants with annual BDO audit requests.
  • Provide back up for Treasury tasks.
  • National Statistics surveys.
  • Completion of month end tasks including AP debit reclasses and goods in transit adjustments.

Job Skills & Experience Required:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:

Qualifications:

  • AAT qualified or working towards, or on an apprenticeship scheme.

Skill & Experience:

  • Be proficient in Excel at an advanced level.
  • Significant experience of working with large & complex data sets.
