ACFS is responsible for facilitating and overseeing payments to providers of Adult and Children’s Social Care and for collecting client contributions in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and local policy.

Adult Social Care covers individuals receiving care in their own homes (non-Residential) or residing in care homes (Residential).

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our existing team as an Assistant Finance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment responsible for payment and billing functions across social care.

We have a 22.5-hour per week permanent vacancy for an Assistant Finance Officer on the Financial Assessment Team.

This role offers hybrid working, requiring attendance at our Stafford office once a week plus occasional meetings, with the majority of work from home.

Main Responsibilities

The role primarily involves administrative tasks related to the accurate and timely processing of Adult Social Care charges. This includes billing care recipients, making payments to care providers, managing system records, and liaising with financial representatives.

You will support Finance Officers and colleagues operationally and collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve processes and deliver excellent customer service.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and provide excellent customer service
  • Capability to deliver accurate and timely work
  • Competency in using computer systems
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to meet business needs

We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Closing date for applications is 12th June 2025. If there is high application volume, we may close earlier. We encourage early application submission to ensure consideration. Interviews are scheduled for Wednesday and/or Thursday, 18th/19th June.
