Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Financial Management professional to assist in cost collection and ensure accurate financial submissions.   1. Assist in the preparation of the Trust's National Cost Collection submission, Education & Training Costs submission, and other NHSEI returns in a timely and accurate manner, following national guidelines by:
  2. Extracting relevant information from the General Ledger
  3. Analyzing and allocating income and expenditure as required by the national guidance
  4. Liaising with various departments within the Trust to obtain activity data for expenditure allocation and unit cost calculation
  5. Ensuring costed expenditure reconciles with the Trust's Annual Accounts
  6. Identifying Research & Development costs

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Significant progress towards a CCAB recognized accountancy qualification or equivalent experience in exceptional circumstances

Desirable criteria

  • Completion of a CCAB recognized accountancy qualification

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Significant experience in a Financial Management role with some costing experience

Desirable criteria

  • Costing experience within an acute hospital setting

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Ability to understand and apply concepts of budgeting, financial planning, costing, pricing, variance analysis, and reporting
  • Good, well-presented written communication skills
