Job Description

Our Finance Assistant Manager will analyze financial data to improve processes, systems, and financial control. This role involves working with Heads of Departments (HODs) and the Finance Manager to understand and control costs and maximize financial efficiency. The role is based on-site at our contract location with two other finance team members.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Conducting in-depth financial analysis to identify trends and performance metrics supporting strategic decisions and improvements.
  2. Assisting in preparing annual budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insights.
  3. Collaborating with departments to gather data for budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accuracy, and monitoring performance with regular reports.
  4. Creating ad-hoc reports for projects or analysis.
  5. Reviewing operating expenses and capital expenditures with HODs, performing scenario analysis.
  6. Tracking and managing monthly product cost allocation and monitoring performance against budgets.
  7. Creating dynamic reports and dashboards to highlight trends and potential issues, analyzing costs to identify savings.
  8. Monitoring market trends and external factors influencing financial performance.
  9. Providing administrative support to the finance team, including handling reporting requests.
  10. Supporting ongoing projects, including data migrations and financial data management.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or above
  • Moderate Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot tables, Power Query)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Self-starting attitude

Desirable:

  • Degree in Mathematics, Finance, or Economics
  • Experience with Excel Macros
  • Experience in management accounts
  • Experience leading management meetings
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with EPOS systems
