What You’ll Do

Your mission will be to ensure the smooth execution of external Group audit processes and the timely delivery of financial statements. Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the Finance Manager (Stats & Audit) by providing high-quality audit deliverables.
• Ensuring all audit and financial statement deadlines are met to perfection.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements with accuracy and insight.
• Analyzing and reconciling Group/Local Authority pension schemes and managing payovers and return submissions.
• Participating in month-end accounting and reporting processes.
• Taking ownership of additional tasks to support team success.

About You

You’ll bring:

Essential Skills & Experience

• A part qualification from a recognized UK accountancy body (final-year students welcome).
• 3+ years’ experience in an accounting role.
• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate with colleagues across all levels.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and presentation skills.

Desirable Extras

• Experience in preparing financial statements.
• Knowledge of pension schemes, especially Local Authority Pension Schemes.
