Job Overview

We are recruiting for two positions within the Workplace Projects department, supporting project managers by monitoring project progress and providing management information to enable accurate forecasting against budgets. These roles sit within the LCR (Lifecycle Replacement) and CRP (Client Requested Projects) teams.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Finance Business Partner(s):
  1. Producing management accounts for relevant budget holders and contributing to GPA's client budget process.
  2. Partnering with programme managers and external partners to ensure expenditure is accurately assessed and project integrity is maintained.
  3. Completing regular reconciliations and sampling of project accounts, including timely project closure assessments.
  4. Advising on the financial treatment of project costs, ensuring correct assessment for capitalisation and appropriate treatment of costs as RDEL or capital expenditure.
  5. Attending monthly stakeholder meetings to support project management, supply chain, and client relationships.
  6. Supporting client discussions to ensure recovery of billed amounts, minimizing and controlling accrued income.
  7. Building internal networks with finance teams to ensure smooth data and knowledge transfer, contributing to the wider finance team.
  8. Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, including accruals and prepayments.
  9. Taking ownership of key financial processes, including journal processing and supporting audits.
  10. Facilitating forecasting and reporting activities, using analytical skills to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience
  • CCAB or equivalent part-qualified or finalist-level candidates required; full qualification desirable.
  • Experience in facilities management or estates-related roles (e.g., property management, construction projects) is preferable, but candidates from other backgrounds will be considered.
  • Understanding of project accounting fundamentals is essential; experience with subcontractors or procurement in facilities management is advantageous.
  • Strong month-end management accounting experience is required.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders from varied backgrounds.
