The company supplies some of the largest retail, wholesale and food manufacturing customers in the UK, offering innovation in potato varieties, packaging solutions, and processes.
The Role
As an Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the Finance Business Partners across both the Fresh and Prepared business units. Your work will underpin financial performance tracking, budgeting, and cost analysis to inform decision-making at operational and senior management levels.
Responsibilities
- Weekly Financial Reporting: Complete weekly financial performance reporting for Group review.
- Produce weekly figures for all relevant business units: Fresh (Lincoln, Somerset, Scotland), Added Value (Retail, B2B, Mash, Protein), Transport & Supply Chain.
- Provide timely, accurate data for Finance Business Partner (FBP) review.
- Month-End & Year-End Support: Assist with general ledger postings, including accruals and prepayments, and support stock management processes and reconciliations.
- New Product & Existing Product Development (NPD/EPD) Costings: Work closely with the Prepared FBP and planning teams to review potential new SKUs and complete detailed costings for Fresh and Prepared products.
- Customer Tenders: Support Finance Business Partners in the preparation and review of financial information for new customer tenders.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with FBPs, Site General Managers, and senior stakeholders to support annual budgeting activities.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Undertake additional tasks and project work as required by the Finance Business Partners.
Requirements
- Starting or progressing through a professional financial qualification
- Relevant experience in a previous operational accountant role
- Strong numerical and communication skills
- Proficient in all Microsoft suites, including Excel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, with self-motivation and ability to prioritize workload
