Description

The Assistant File Handler to a Partner (AFH) will work with a Partner handling a mixed caseload of Equality Act, Clinical Negligence, Occupational Stress, and short-tail disease claims. The role involves performing delegated tasks to facilitate the progression and resolution of cases within the Complex Disease Litigation Department, focusing on fast and multi-track matters.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out tasks assigned by the File Handler, including:

  • Ensuring compliance with client SLAs
  • Adhering to court directions and timetables
  • Drafting Court Documents
  • Negotiation
  • Advocacy, including attending telephone hearings
  • Analyzing evidence
  • Client Reporting
  • Instructing and liaising with Counsel and experts
  • Preparing bundles
  • Completing and updating MI
  • Achieving chargeable targets

The above list is not exhaustive and other work may be assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Experience in claims handling (pre-litigation or litigated)
  • Understanding of the litigation process
