Job description

Job Title: Assistant Farm Manager
Area: Boroughbridge - Yorkshire
Salary: Excellent rates including Quarterly Bonus
Job Type: Full-time, Perm

Galaxy Personnel is working with a well-established national farming business to recruit an Assistant Farm Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking progression in the Poultry Industry.

Assist and support the Farm Manager with the day-to-day management of the farm, ensuring that the stock produced is of the highest standards and meets the required specifications in terms of welfare, weight, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  1. Manage the farms to ensure that bird welfare is never compromised.
  2. Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter, and lighting within the agreed standards, ensuring the highest quality conditions for the birds.
  3. Communicate with the Farm Manager to provide prompt and accurate information.
  4. Manage and control contractors on site, ensuring work is carried out to required standards and quality.
  5. Cover the alarm system as needed, ensuring it is operational and faults are rectified immediately.
  6. Maintain the site in a clean, tidy, and presentable manner.
  7. Ensure adherence to all Codes of Practice at all times.
  8. Work flexibly, including weekends, early mornings, and late evenings as required.
  9. Attend training courses deemed appropriate by the company.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Initiative and influencing skills with a critical evaluation and questioning approach.
  • Sound stock management background.
  • Ability to manage employees.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
