Assistant Facilities Manager - Chelsea

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join a prestigious institute based in Chelsea. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities professional seeking to further develop their career within a respected and professional environment.

Initially offered on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent, the successful candidate will support the Facilities Manager in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of facilities services across the institute's estate. The role will play a key part in ensuring that buildings, services and working environments are maintained to the highest standards.

As Assistant Facilities Manager, you will support the management of both hard and soft facilities services, ensuring a safe, compliant and welcoming environment for staff, students, visitors and contractors. You will assist with the coordination of planned and reactive maintenance activities, monitor contractor performance, carry out routine building inspections and help maintain statutory compliance across the estate.

The successful candidate will support health and safety initiatives, fire safety procedures, emergency preparedness activities and workplace compliance requirements. You will also be involved in monitoring service contracts, maintaining facilities records, assisting with budgetary control and supporting facilities-related projects and improvements.

This role requires a hands-on and proactive individual who enjoys working in a varied environment and who can build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and service providers. Excellent organisational skills and a customer-focused approach are essential.

To be considered, you should have previous experience within a facilities, estates, property management or building services environment. You will possess a good understanding of facilities operations, contractor management and health and safety compliance, together with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities within a busy workplace.

Experience of facilities management software, planned maintenance programmes and compliance management would be advantageous. Relevant qualifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH or IWFM are desirable, although not essential.

In return, our client offers a salary of up to £34,000 per annum, the opportunity to secure a permanent position, ongoing professional development and the chance to work within a highly regarded institution in one of London's most desirable locations.

If you are looking for your next step within facilities management and would like to join a professional and supportive organisation, we would be delighted to hear from you.
