Job Description

We are looking for a bright, personable, hardworking, detail-focused, and enthusiastic summer intern to work alongside our Event Manager at CarFest 2025. This is a voluntary role and would suit a student seeking a placement, as part of their dissertation in Event Management or a similar course.

Beginning in May you will be required to attend our Monthly CarFest Meetings (which take place from 2-4pm on the third Tuesday of the month) The hours then gradually build as we progress through the summer months leading up to CarFest in August. An example of the required hours is set out below, which can be a mix of remote and onsite work but with August requiring full flexibility and full-time commitment onsite at Laverstoke Park Farm.

May – 10hrs

June – 35hrs

July – 35hrs

On the week of the event, the successful candidate will need to work straight through from Monday 18th to Monday 25th August 2025. This particular week will be manic, very long hours and pressured and therefore require a lot of energy, patience, and thinking on your feet!

The applicant primary role will be to assist in the organisation of our fun foodie workshops that have a throughput of approximately 8,000 places over the 3 days. You will gain experience in written communication, people skills, working with suppliers, working to a budget, assisting in finding sponsors, spoken communication, negotiation, networking and lots more!

In addition, there is also the option to work as our VIP Hospitality Co-ordinator in our hospitality area at CarFest, this role is a paid role from Tuesday 19th – Monday 25th August 2025

CarFest Management Ltd is the overall event organiser, but as the host, we have a lot of responsibility also. Therefore, you will have quite a lot of interaction with CarFest Management, as well as sponsors, suppliers and volunteers of the festival. For this reason, this is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain invaluable experience within the exciting world of events!

Laverstoke Park Farm does not make any profit hosting CarFest or running the workshops; this is our donation to the charities. As such, our budget is small…. But our ambitions are high, and we want to raise as much money as possible for the charities whilst making sure people have as much family friendly fun as possible in the process!

In return we will provide:

  • Treatment of applicants as employees
  • Provide a written contract
  • Support applicants with access to health and safety training
  • Nominate a mentor from the company to check in with the applicant
  • Meet or talk with the students tutor to discuss progress (if a student)
  • Complete feedback at the end of the placement
  • Ensure appropriate liability and public liability insurance is in place
  • Fuel expenses will be paid for

Pay Rate: Voluntary (with the option for paid work as VIP Host during the festival)
