Reporting to: Engineering Planner

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are delighted to be supporting our FMCG Clientin the recruitment of an Assistant Engineering Planner to join their Edinburgh manufacturing site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of one of the UK’s major manufacturing sites where you will have exposure to learn, grown and develop within a fast paced and ever changing manufacturing environment.

The Role:

As Assistant Engineering Planner, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Engineering Planner with the safe, cost-effective scheduling and execution of all maintenance activities across the site.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and previous experience in a scheduling or planning role to build a long-term career in a fast-paced and supportive engineering environment.

You’ll also act as cover for the Engineering Planner during holidays and sickness, gaining excellent exposure and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and execution of weekly engineering maintenance plans
  • Track and report key Engineering KPIs and compliance performance
  • Collate job requests from various departments and help prioritise maintenance activities
  • Maintain CMMS and documentation – ensuring accurate data input and reporting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, maximising planning efficiency and asset reliability
  • Champion a positive team culture and strong internal communication
What We’re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a scheduling/resource planning role
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Logical thinker and effective decision-maker
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms (e.g., Shire, Commusoft, SAP)
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
