Job summary

WSP is recruiting an Assistant Engineer to join the Structures Investigation Group (SIG) in the UK. You will assist with planning, execution and reporting of structural inspections and investigations across diverse locations, utilizing CAD and testing procedures to support client briefs.

You will contribute to development of procedures, manage tasks within a project programme, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while growing your career in a global professional services firm.

Qualifications

MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Graduate membership with ICE, BINDT or IStructE, pursuing Incorporated/Chartered status.
Knowledge or experience of condition assessment testing and monitoring is advantageous.
Knowledge of bridge asset management software and standards would be advantageous.
IT literacy; AutoCAD experience is advantageous; proficiency in Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

Delivery of detailed inspection and investigation of engineered structures UK-wide.
Prepare desk studies, briefs and CAD sketches for proposals and reports.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments for site activities.
Execute structure inspections and investigations, supervise subcontractors as needed.
Produce schedules for laboratory testing of materials samples.
Prepare CAD sketches for factual and interpretive reports.
Prepare factual and interpretive testing reports and structure management studies.
Manage delivery of tasks within a suitable programme with supervision and mentoring.
Demonstrate Health and Safety responsibilities and drive technical excellence.
Collaborate with other teams and undertake ongoing personal development.
