Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with project requirements
  • Preparing calculations, writing reports, and checking drawings
  • Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers
  • Performing a wide variety of engineer activities including collating and understanding data, running analyses, developing calculation methods, and working with colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality project work
  • Contributing to the dissemination of engineering good practice and implementation of our in‑house tools such as the carbon calculation tool
  • With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload, reporting back on progress against a project budget and programme
  • Responsible for delivering your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a diligent and careful approach to self-checking
  • Attending site visits or client meetings
Qualifications
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) and a clear ambition to work towards Chartered Engineer status
  • Experience working in an engineering environment (e.g., industry placement or professional role)
  • Be familiar with either UK standards or equivalent European or Euro Codes
  • Possess an understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the designers' requirements
  • Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and interest in engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
  • Have the ability and willingness to work in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
  • Be able to demonstrate good communication skills and teamwork
