You will be joining a team of talented, solution-focused and driven employee relations specialists. Our purpose is to support our managers to make Mitie a great place to work. We advise and coach managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in line with legislation and best practices while balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.

This is a hybrid role typically requiring 1 to 2 days per week in the Birmingham office, with flexible working options available. We support continuous development, including those who wish to continue or begin their CIPD studies.

What to Expect:
  • Managing your own caseload of ER issues from receipt to resolution, utilizing your knowledge of ER and employment law
  • Providing HR advice related to HR policies, practices, and procedures
  • Using technology, including our case management system, to remotely deliver quality service
  • Handling inbound ER phone calls from customers
  • Gaining exposure to a wide variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private
  • Being part of a wider customer-focused People Support team within Mitie's central HR function
What we are looking for:
  • Knowledge of Employee Relations or keen interest in Employee Relations
  • CIPD qualified or seeking support with your studies
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Understanding of HR systems (advantageous)
  • Keen interest in Employment Law
  • Respect for confidentiality
  • Curious mindset, research-oriented, inquisitive
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong case management skills, able to prioritize
  • Well-organized, able to meet deadlines with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Coaching and influencing skills supported by logic and facts
