Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking an Assistant EHC Caseworker to join the SEND service in Harrogate. The role involves maintaining a caseload for children and young people with SEND, delivering professional and supportive services to families, and ensuring statutory duties under the Children and Families Act (2014) are met.

You will update plans after reviews, organise meetings, and engage with education, health, and care planning processes to support individual pupils and their families.

Qualifications

• Understanding of educational, SEND and Inclusion legislation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people in a professional, effective, and responsive manner.
• Excellent organisational skills to enable you to carry out the role to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of identified young people and provide professional, effective and supportive service to parents of children undergoing assessments.
• Update EHC plans following reviews and organise meetings.
• Discuss specific issues associated with the needs and provisions of individual pupils.
