Are you passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their development? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Childcare Educator to join our team. We offer 10% above the award rate for our permanent team members!

As a Childcare Educator, you will be responsible for supporting the creation and implementation of engaging, play-based learning activities for children aged 6 months to 5 years old. You will provide a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.

Your role

• Support in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities, including art, music, movement, and outdoor play
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes teamwork and respect for diversity
• Observe and assess the development and progress of each child, and communicate with parents and colleagues about individual needs and achievements
• Maintain a clean and organized room, including managing materials and supplies
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times, following all policies and procedures

We provide long day care and early education for families living in Cowes, Silverleaves, Ventnor, and Wimbledon Heights on Phillip Island. Our centre caters to 70 children aged zero to 6 years, open from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. We are fully air-conditioned, have on-site parking, and offer a kindergarten yoga program.

Our Requirements

• Hold a minimum ACECQA-approved Certificate 3 or Diploma in Children’s Services
• Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
• Proven experience working with children aged 0-5 years in an early childhood setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Current Working with Children Check
• First Aid certification
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
