A respected charity in mental health is seeking an Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner to join their InsideOut Mental Health Support Team. The role involves supporting emotional wellbeing activities for children and families, delivering interventions, and fostering partnerships with schools to enhance mental health support. Applicants should possess relevant degrees and experience working with children. Thepost-holder will be employed by The Junction and will work into the InsideOutMental Health Support Team, alongside a wider team of practitioners. TheAssistant Education Mental Health Practitioner (AEMHP) is an active member ofthe team working with others to support the delivery of mental health andemotional wellbeing activities and to deliver positive outcomes for children,young people and their families.
The postholder will deliver a range of delegated activities as part of amultidisciplinary team to support children, young people and their families byoffering age-appropriate information and advice on a range of emotional health,lifestyle and behaviour related issues. The role will deliver alongside themore senior members of the team delivering Care planning meetings, Whole SchoolApproach, training and group work.
As part of the wider team, support the delivery of emotionalwellbeing activities to individual and/or groups of children, young people andfamilies.
Deliver a range of evidence based brief interventions (i.e.brief advice, guided self-help, signposting) on a range of emotional health andwellbeing related issues under the direction of the EMHP and/or SeniorPractitioner.
Deliver the Whole School Approach (WSA) including audits andaction plans and support the wider team to deliver a range of WSA activitiesincluding psychoeducation groups, assemblies, workforce training etc.
To support schools in developing strategies/activities topromote emotional well-being and positive mental health.
Actively work towards developing and sustaining effectiveworking relationships with schools, education settings and partner agencies inaccordance with Joint Working Agreements

We have developed a unique servicedelivery model to ensure that clients are able to access a service thatsupports their individual needs. However, the ethos of The Junction ensures ourservices do not work in silos, although we recognise the need for serviceidentities and separate lines of accountability to stakeholders.

The Assistant Education MentalHealth Practitioner (AEMHP) is an active member of the team working with others to support thedelivery of mental health and emotional wellbeing activities and to deliverpositive outcomes for children, young people and their families

The role will work alongsidethe more senior members of the team delivering Assessments, Whole SchoolApproach, Training and Group Work.
We hope that the successfulcandidate will complete the Education Mental Health Practitioner qualificationwhen a space is available at Northumbria University.

Keep clear, professionally coherent records of all activityin line with both health and education service protocols and use these recordsand outcome data to inform decision making.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection.
As appropriate, assist and lead in the development andproduction of resources for the benefit of children and young people, ensuringthat they are age appropriate.
Contribute to the setting of targets/action plans and workrelated to these, to assist service development.
Liaise with other staff and agencies to further meet theneeds of children and young people in accordance with the service criteria,policies and procedures. Strengthening the relationship with school staff (suchas SENDCO, Pastoral Lead, Head Teacher etc), Mental Health Providers (such asStatutory CAMHS, other Voluntary Sector Organisations), Social Care and otherrelevant services.
Take part in the delivery of training (as appropriate),consultation with and guidance to, others, pertaining to the level ofdevelopment.
Responsible forsafeguarding children, promoting the welfare of children and young people atall times and operating within local policies and procedures. Under guidanceand support taking appropriate safeguarding action to protect children andyoung people at risk of significant harm.
Training andSupervision:
To apply learning from induction, directly into practice.
Engage in and respond to personal development supervision toimprove competences and practice.
Prepare and present information to supervisors within theservice on an agreed and scheduled basis to ensure safe practice and thegovernance obligations of the service. Respond to and implement supervisionsuggestions by supervisors in practice.
