Job summary

Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust is offering an Assistant EMHP role on a fixed-term post. The post holder will support the MHSTs in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions for students with mild to moderate mental health needs.

You will work with EMHPs, SWPs and clinicians, using CBT knowledge and whole-school approaches to promote wellbeing. The role is within educational settings and aligns with clinical governance and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience or exposure to mental health support in educational settings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and child/adolescent mental health practice is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MHSTs in delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues.
  • Provide timely advice to school and college staff and support designated senior mental health leads in educational settings.
  • Work alongside Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs), Senior Wellbeing Practitioners (SWPs) and Senior Clinicians to deliver care for young people referred to the service.

Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant EMHP on a fixed-term post. It may provide applicants thinking about applying for trainee posts, insights and experience into the MHST teams and roles.

The Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are part of the Emotional Health and Wellbeing Service in East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust (EEC) and are within the ‘Getting Advice’ and ‘Getting Help’ (quadrants of) the developing iThrive model currently being implemented across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The iThrive model provides an integrated approach to the delivery of person-centered and needs-led services for children, young people and families.

The post holder will be supporting the MHST’s provision of a high-quality service to students (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.

The three core elements that the MHST’s provide are:

  • Evidence based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues
  • Support designated senior mental health leads in educational setting
  • Provide timely advice to school and college staff

The post holder will work alongside Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP’s), Senior Wellbeing Practitioners (SWP’s) and Senior Clinicians through direct delivery of evidence-based interventions that support the recovery of young people referred to the service.

The post holder will also utilise their skills and knowledge of Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and child and adolescent mental health practice, alongside their knowledge of whole school approaches to mental health.

This work will be in accordance with clinical governance processes and professional standards.
