The Sun, part of News Corp, is hiring an Assistant Editor (Maternity Cover) to lead the US desk from London, coordinating with New York and UK desks. You will manage reporters, shape the day’s US coverage, and contribute on entertainment, lifestyle, and traditional news stories.
Based in London, you will oversee early-morning US trends, plan exclusives, and collaborate with visuals and foreign desks to deliver compelling content.
Part of News Corp, The Sun is a global publisher and one of the biggest news brands in the UK. Our talented and diverse team publishes the best coverage of news, sport, TV, showbiz, and lifestyle.
In early 2020 we launched a US edition, and within 18 months became the fastest-growing news site in the US.
Although our main office is in New York, we have a growing US hub working out of The Sun offices in London which publishes US news for a US audience, taking advantage of the time difference.
We are looking for an Assistant Editor (Maternity Cover) to hit the ground running each morning with the best of US news and set up our New York office for the day.
This is a news role, but as part of a small team you will be expected to turn your hand to stories across multiple desks, handling entertainment, lifestyle and consumer lines, as well as more traditional news.
This is an incredible opportunity to help shape our future development from the ground up and to set the news agenda each day for the-sun.com.
