Job summary

WSP in Leeds is seeking an Assistant Ecologist to join our growing Nature Services Team. You will contribute to ecology surveys, prepare tenders, and input into ecological deliverables under the guidance of senior ecologists. The role offers a supportive, varied environment and flexible working arrangements to help you perform at your best.

A full UK driving licence is often preferred, and you will engage with projects that support biodiversity and sustainable development across the region.

Qualifications

• An appropriate academic qualification in Ecology or a related discipline.
• Qualifying Member status with CIEEM (or are eligible for this).
• Experience in extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ecology surveys including extended Phase 1 habitat/UKHab surveys and protected species surveys.
• Assist with tender preparation for schemes and ecological surveys.
• Contribute to deliverables such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and EIAs.
• Work independently and as part of a team while following wildlife legislation.
