Assistant Ecologist / Ecologist - Ornithology - £23,500 + dependent on experience

Futures Ecology is a small friendly consultancy started in 2019 with offices in both Leeds and Bolsover.

We are looking for an assistant ecologist or ecologist with particular experience in undertaking ornithological surveys and report production or an applicant with a keen interest in ornithology including aptitude in visual and audible bird identification.

Skills/Qualifications
  1. To have a specialism in Ornithology, with experience in undertaking scoping, breeding bird and non-breeding bird surveys.
  2. A degree in Ecology (or related subject) or equivalent experience.
  3. Full, clean driving licence with business use on your insurance policy and access to your own transport.
  4. CIEEM Membership, minimum of Qualifying but dependent on position.
  5. Proficiency in QGIS/QFIELD/other GIS software (desirable).
  6. Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  7. Excellent written and communication skills.
  8. Flexibility to meet the needs of the business including irregular hours and travel.
  9. Good organisational skills, proactive with a high level of motivation.
