Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has opened up for an Ecologist to join a specialist service provider, who specialize in various aspects within industries, predominantly rail; including but not limited to: Arboriculture, Environmental, Building works, Pest Control, Minor Civils, Station car parks, Train cleaning, and Line Marking.

Sitting within their Environmental and Sustainability division, with support from the Head of Environment, you will be involved in shaping the ecology and arboriculture team, taking leadership on various projects.

Rail experience is not essential as all training will be provided, and progression is supported, as shown by long-standing employees who have advanced through support and guidance.

Key responsibilities for this Ecologist role:
  • Liaising with clients, project managers, and stakeholders.
  • Completing Ecological Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Collaborating with contract managers and project managers internally.
  • Working on a variety of ecological reports, surveys, and inspections.
  • Compiling reports on protected species, surveys, and inspections.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Ecology.
  • An Ecology-related Degree.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Protected species licence(s).
  • Understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).
  • Consultancy experience.
  • CIEEM membership.
