Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is seeking an Assistant Ecologist to support the Climate Change and Environmental Team in delivering policy compliance and biodiversity objectives in Wales.

You will provide professional ecological advice to partners, review surveys and documents, support mitigation and enhancement projects, and assist with licences where required, ensuring duties are delivered efficiently and to schedule.

Qualifications

• Welsh language ability is desirable; English is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide ecological advice and support to partners regarding assessment, impact and mitigation of operations on ecology and biodiversity.
• Review internal and external documents, surveys and reporting; provide technical advice; attend meetings; site supervision.
• Manage the soft estate inventory and ecological assets; propose, design and manage enhancement projects; assist with NRW licences and monitoring to ensure compliance.
