Job summary

NMWTRA in Bangor seeks a Senior Ecologist to provide professional ecological advice and support across capital and maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with environmental law and maximising biodiversity benefits. Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Ecology or relevant specialist field.
• 5+ years’ experience in an Environmental or Ecology related position.
• Experience of assessing the impact of projects / activities on the environment and biodiversity.
• Experience of advising on habitat management and species requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional ecological advice and support to NMWTRA teams and partners to maximise biodiversity opportunities.
• Obtain protected species licences, site licences, consents and ensure required survey/monitoring/reporting obligations.
• Develop network-wide Protected Species Programme of Works licences and NRW reporting systems.
• Manage environmental constraint processes (TRECS) and roadkill data to identify wildlife mitigation opportunities.
• Manage budgets/projects relating to ecological mitigation and environmental innovation.
