Overview
Serco has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Document Controller to join our team based at RNAS Culdrose. This role is part of the Integrated Merlin Operational Support contract within the Air Engineering Writer team, supporting contractual delivery at the site.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure aircraft electronic structural information and supporting documentation are complete and accurate to maintain administrative integrity and airworthiness.
- Support the aircraft receipt process by liaising with the dispatching unit for documentation checks, GOLDesp reports, and ensuring the aircraft receipt log is maintained.
- Assist in the aircraft despatch process, ensuring MOD F700C contents are up-to-date with MOD F799/1 instructions, and generate aircraft despatch notifications while maintaining a despatch log.
- Generate and submit aircraft weight and moment concession requests as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for dissemination of relevant Technical Instructions issued by the DT.
- Support the generation of 'Request Category' requests as directed by customer line management.
- Collect and store component change proformas.
- Manage the receipt and dissemination of 'Signals' and maintain a signal log.
- Promote the Maintenance Error Management System (MEMS) and encourage incident and near-miss reporting.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous aircraft engineering experience with a good working knowledge of Merlin Aircraft Engineering and Aircraft Systems.
- Knowledge of Naval Air Publications and C-IETP.
- Understanding of Health and Safety, COSHH Regulations, Tool Control, and Quality Practices.
- Experience with Engineering and Asset Management Systems.
- Completion or ability to complete a Maintenance Human Factors Course.
- Understanding of rotary wing military aviation procedures.
- Proven experience in Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance according to Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA).
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work productively and efficiently under tight deadlines and pressure, maintaining operational outputs.
