SCOPE
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, the Assistant Director / Senior Sales Manager of Groups & Events is essential to the advancement of the hotel’s market position in the Groups & Events sector. This position leads Groups & Events team, collaborates across departments and ensures optimal utilization and revenue maximization of the hotel’s event spaces including theatre, ballroom, restaurants and guest rooms, while following Kempinski’s standards.
OVERALL OBJECTIVES
- Direct receipt, qualification and coordination of event enquiries (including leads, RFPs, etc.) and handle requests according to the relevant standards
- Follow up on sent proposals to confirm receipt and address any questions to drive successful conversion into revenue
- Manage inquiries from planning through execution to post-event follow up including site inspections, negotiations and contracting
- Review results including forecasts and revenue tracking, to provide recommendation and execute strategies to increase market share and maximize revenue
- Setting KPIs and review the performance of individuals
- Handle converted confirmed events business/meeting and handover group files (from the Sales team) and oversee until post-event
- Collaborate closely with Sales team to engage and build relationships with potential clients
- Collaborate closely with Banquet, F&B, Rooms and Operations teams to ensure smooth handover and executive of all groups and events, and to ensure that clients need are fulfilled
- Thoroughly input, supervise and maintain the requests in the Opera S&C System according to the data input standards
- Monitor industry trends and market offers to enhance our offerings
- Perform additional administrative tasks and other ad-hoc duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or Hotel Management with 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Possesses great leadership and motivational skills and an ability to adapt communication and working style to suit various stakeholders
- Positive attitude and team player with ability to work independently, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions.
- Proven success in driving revenue and developing sales strategies
- Strong network within the MICE, corporate event and concert/theatre industries is a plus
- Resourceful, able to multi-task and work within tight deadlines
- Analytical approach to problem solving and demonstrated ability to “think outside of the box”
