Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming transport and highways in a vibrant London borough? Our client, a dynamic public sector organisation based in Ealing, is seeking an enthusiastic and visionary Assistant Director of Transport and Highways. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the community by championing sustainable transport and active travel initiatives.

Contract Details:

• Type: Temporary (6 months)
• Daily Rate: £500 - £700 per day (Umbrella, inside IR35, negotiable)
• Working Pattern: Full Time (2 days in the office)
• Location: Ealing, London (just a 12-minute walk from Ealing Broadway train station)
• Hybrid: 2/3 days onsite depending on service requirements

Role Overview:

As the Assistant Director, you will inspire a talented team of technical officers and spearhead innovative projects that aim to revolutionise transport services in the borough. Your leadership will focus on enhancing experience, reducing congestion, and improving air quality, uniting council functions and stakeholders to reimagine our streets and promote sustainable transport solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exemplary operational leadership while fostering a culture aligned with the Council's values and priorities.
• Drive service transformation initiatives through innovation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with council services to enhance satisfaction and engagement.
• Guide operational planning and financial management to ensure robust service delivery.
• Develop partnerships with local authorities and agencies to elevate the council's profile and achieve shared objectives.
• Serve as a technical advisor to the Cabinet and Senior Leadership Team, influencing local policy and implementing strategic initiatives.
