Location: Remote, Anywhere in the US

Salary: $106,000 to $116,000 per year

Role and Responsibilities

The Assistant Director will lead the Government Performance Lab’s Research & Writing team, reporting directly to the Executive Director. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing the research and writing strategy of the organization
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to produce and disseminate insights from GPL projects
  • Managing Research & Writing staff and overseeing content creation
  • Writing and editing materials such as policy briefs, case studies, training materials, website content, and blog posts
  • Serving as the managing editor of GPL publications
  • Distributing content via press releases, media pitches, and social media to enhance visibility

Examples of recent projects include publications on kin-first practices, community-informed safety indicators, and promising practices for supporting homelessness response workforce.

Location and Start Date

Flexible location, with access to a major U.S. airport for occasional travel. Candidates must be able to start by July 21, 2025, or earlier.
