A leading global advisory team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Director, M&A to join its Tech Advisory team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, providing strategic advisory services to technology-focused clients, particularly within the software sector. The ideal candidate will bring extensive transactional experience and a deep understanding of the tech industry, helping to drive strategic growth and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting end-to-end M&A transactions, including valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring.
  • Developing and executing growth strategies for software-focused technology firms, identifying potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities.
  • Managing and coordinating financial modelling, business case development, and strategic analysis to assess deal feasibility.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders, investment teams, and external advisors to drive successful deal execution.
  • Providing mentorship and leadership to junior team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Staying ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including pitching for new opportunities and expanding the firm’s M&A advisory capabilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in M&A, corporate finance, or investment banking, with a strong focus on the technology sector, particularly software firms.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and deal structuring.
  • Strong experience managing due diligence processes, risk assessments, and integration planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence C-level executives and investors.
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A track record of successfully leading or contributing to high-profile transactions.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, CFA, MBA) are desirable but not essential.
