Job Description:

The Role

You will lead a large team to deliver a safe, customer-centric, high-quality, value-for-money property repairs, improvements, projects, and maintenance services. The delivery will involve a mix of in-house staff, sub-contractors, main contractors, and possibly external consultants. You must ensure all work is conducted safely and competently, with a focus on customer satisfaction, meeting commitments, monitoring performance, and complying with regulatory and legislative obligations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing significant, complex annual budgets, monitoring expenditure, and ensuring compliance with procedures and audit requirements.
  • Delivering improvement programs and projects to meet performance and financial standards, ensuring customer satisfaction and value for money.
  • Deploying resources effectively, including suppliers, to maximize productivity and customer benefit.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partner agencies, contributing to SNG's objectives.
  • Leading strategic and operational service delivery across localities, both residential and non-residential.
  • Collaborating with senior leaders to deliver the Corporate Plan, ensuring projects are completed timely and within budget.
  • Driving business effectiveness through innovative solutions to improve customer service and operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with standards.

  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary, customer-focused team in a large maintenance and engineering organization.
  • Strong knowledge of program development and performance improvement in a customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to manage budgets, forecast income and expenditure, and mitigate risks.
  • Analytical skills to interpret business data and develop progress metrics.
  • Strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and values-driven behaviors aligned with our corporate and asset strategies.
  • Experience implementing innovative concepts and adapting to policy changes.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, ensuring team compliance.
  • Track record of delivering excellent customer service in complex environments.
